Escrow applies to our hourly employees who work less than 230 days per year. This group includes teacher assistants, food service workers, bus drivers, etc. Escrow is deducted during the school year to cover the summer insurance premiums. These escrow deductions are taken in the payroll checks from September through May. No benefits payroll deductions are taken in the June and August payroll checks because the premiums will be paid using the employee’s escrow deductions.
